Lucy Abel Smith
Director and founder of Reality and Beyond Ltd, Lucy has been planning tours and leading independent travellers all over the world for art organisations and museum groups for the last thirty years. She worked for a leading specialist travel company ending up as chairman until she left to write the first authoritative guide to Prague after the Velvet Revolution published by John Murray. Since then she has been a consultant and guest lecturer for The National Art Collections Fund, The British Museum Society, The Friends of the Royal Academy and the Victoria and Albert Museum, Smith College Alumni and Venetian Heritage and has been a consultant to Sotheby’s, creating a range of visits for connoisseurs to private palaces, houses and collections throughout Europe.
Harriet is a Prague-based art historian specialising in the heritage and art of the Czech Republic and Central Europe. She has an undergraduate degree in art history from Yale and previously worked in London running an art centre in King’s Cross. She worked for over 13 years with Specialtours accompanying and leading tours for museums and heritage associations in the UK and USA. She speaks Czech, German, Spanish & French.
